Best clear braces – Orthodontic braces

When individuals start to look for the best clear braces, they may look up the best Miami dentist for braces for advice. But the best dentist or orthodontist for braces will largely be dependent on the type of orthodontic treatment you get.

Whether you are looking for traditional metal braces, invisible aligners, oral health tips, straightening teeth, invisible braces, ceramic braces, teeth aligners, what it’s like wearing braces, orthodontic treatment options, Invisalign treatment, or other align technology, you need to make sure that you got a great orthodontist who specializes in the particular part of orthodontic medicine you’re interested in. It’s not merely enough to find a general one, you need to find one who will fit your needs and be the best orthodontist for you.

Before we get into some great orthodontic options for adults, let’s take a look at what some of the experts of orthodontic medicine have to say on the topic.

Ceramic orthodontic appliances are the best attempt so far at combining the aesthetic needs of the patient with the technical performance required by the orthodontist (Birnie D, 1990).

Ceramic braces therefore have been understandably welcomed by patients (Birnie D, 1990).

However, presently ceramic braces should be used cautiously because of the limitations of the material and not simply as an alternative to metal brackets and braces (Birnie D, 1990).

How are clear braces better than traditional metal braces when looking for braces for young adults?

Orthodontics that adults need are often different from those of children. Adults may be concerned about self-esteem and the appearance of wearing traditional metal braces. This can be understandable as traditional metal braces are most commonly associated with children and wearing them as an adult can be awkward at best. Fortunately for adults though, there are more options when it comes to great orthodontic care and treatment types and one of them is clear braces.

The most common type of aesthetically pleasing braces is ceramic braces. But how are ceramic braces better than traditional metal braces? Ceramic braces are far better in the appearance department. While both affix to the front of the teeth and both help push and pull your teeth into the correct positions, ceramic braces utilize tooth colored ceramics instead of metal brackets.

These tooth colored ceramics come in various colors including porcelain, white, and ivory to help match your teeth color regardless of the shade. Using this along with clear bands means that your orthodontics will be significantly less noticeable than with more traditional methods like metal braces which are impossible to hide.

Which types of dental braces are most suitable when looking for orthodontic treatment adults?

Braces suitability ultimately depends on a variety of factors. What is most suitable for you may mean something completely different for somebody else. Generally, if your orthodontic problems are mild to moderate, the most common type of braces adults seek out is Invisalign. While these are not like most braces as they do not permanently attach to the teeth, they do operate similar to how other braces do in terms of pushing and pulling the teeth into the correct position.

Invisalign instead of being permanently mounted to the teeth uses a plastic tray which is specifically shaped for your teeth to help push them into the right positions. Because it is a thin clear plastic tray, it is almost totally invisible and most people will not even know you are even wearing one.

For adults this can be great as it is minimally invasive, it allows users to take it out as often as they desire for their own personal comfort, and it allows you to brush, eat, and floss without any orthodontics in the way. It is essential that you wear it for the requisite 22 hours per day for it to be effective but other than that stipulation and some general cleaning tips, there are few restrictions on this type of orthodontics.

What are the various types of braces? Dental braces

There are three primary types of braces and each of them has their own pros and cons. Traditional metal braces are the least aesthetically pleasing but come at the cheapest price, usually running around $3,000.

The next most common type of braces is ceramic braces which have a significant aesthetic boost since they utilize tooth colored ceramics and clear bands. Ceramic braces only come with a slight price increase of about $4,000 and while they are a big improvement over traditional metal braces, they are still noticeable, just less so.

The last type is lingual braces. Lingual braces are the most aesthetically pleasing of all bracket and wire style braces as they attach to the back of the teeth and so are totally invisible. However, due to the difficulty with installation and the high level of aesthetic quality, they’re also the most expensive, coming in around $8,000.

There is also the Invisalign clear aligner style of braces.  We talked about them above, but in summary they are a set of clear aligner trays that you change out every few weeks.  They can be removed to brush your teeth or eat, but you do have to remember to wear them for at least 22 hours a day for them to have maximum effectiveness.

How much do ceramic braces cost and is it much different than the average cost of Invisalign?

Ceramic braces and Invisalign are both competing for the title of aesthetics winner. While Invisalign holds a clear advantage when it comes to overall looks, as there is simply little way of beating a thin clear piece of plastic which is helping to adjust your teeth, the two are much closer in other ways.

This is especially true when it comes to price. Invisalign and ceramic braces both come in at about $4,000. This means that the real difference is in the level of aesthetics you are interested in and the speed of your treatment. While ceramic braces have a relatively lower level of aesthetics, they do have a higher treatment speed. Invisalign can take longer by months but they do look far better while doing it.

Ultimately, as mentioned earlier. best comes down to your personal preference and talking with your orthodontic office can help you figure out what will be the best orthodontic solution for you.
